9am- Desert Hills Invite- 3200m

Well the bus was late picking us up from the highschool so I rode over with Cam. The bus showed up right as we left but yolo we drove over anyway. Me and Dallen and Jake and Mitch and Andrew and Preston warmed up around the loop in which Jake got stung in the face by a bee yesterday.

I started out in the last alley on the very outside and that sucked and the first lap was like a 114 but I was still pretty far back in the pack. Coach was yelling at me to move up there and I was having some trouble doing that cuz guys dont like to move out of the way. I wish everybody was just chill and fine with letting people move around the pack but nope, they make me go around them every time. The dude next to me was always right up in my grill but after the 3rd lap everthing spread out pretty good. My 1600 was around 459 and I tried to keep it going for the next. I need to work on the second 1600. I think that I was running with Andrew and some guy from Richfield but im not sure my memory is not good right now. The Richfield kid was making a surge and breaking away from me and Nick and Paul were yelling at me to move up around him but I didnt what can say I just didnt. Looking back, if I had pulled out a major surge and gone with him I would have been way closer to breaking 10 minutes. With 400m left I was at 9:00 flat so I was thinking man I can state qualify easy I just got to run a sub 60 400. Easy. jk. I still had a nice last lap though and a pretty good kick. Still a step off my best but I will get there.

Afterwards I drank some water and we went on a cool down. I got some airheads (the best candy ever) and we all got some snacks and headed out. Unfortunatly I somehow lost one of my airheads. It was pretty sad. We ran over the dirt mountain and me and Jake went at pomagranit pace cuz he was eating an orange and I was eating my remaining candy. On the return trip we were being stalked by some bees so we caught up with the group for strength in numbers. Nick ran in the 4x400 and they missed state qualifying by less than .5 of a second. The sun murdered my skin and I was tired for the rest of the day and we watched starwars at Zachs and ate food. Gotta say, today was a good day
