930am- SC Invite- 3200m

I slept on the bus ride over and im not gonna lie, it was great. The weather for the 3200 was perfect- nice and cool with overcast and light rain and barely any wind. I warmed up on the track with Jake and also Dallen and Mitch and I drank alot of water because of hydration is important. My plan was just consistantly hit 115 splits the whole race with extra speed at the first and last laps to push me under 10. and state qualifying would have been nice.

The start of the race was slow- the gun went off and I got right out in front with all of the Ogden guys but they were all hanging way back. Lap #1 was 115 which was on pace but I learned from science that you should start out fast and drop some time while your still fresh. Lap #2 they got moving and people started passing me. Dallen was right beside be and I sat right on him like a duck on a log. Somewhere around here Bryson passed me and I was a bit worried but i decided to forget about him and run my own race. Hes just a beast anyways and there is nothing I can do about that untill I become a beast as well. Me and Dallen got in a nice rythm and kept pounding out 115/114s till mile 1. My first mile split was 457 I think and so I was right on track. The next couple laps were rough but Dallen and I were rolling and i kept telling myself just focuse on 1 lap at a time dont fall off, dont slow down. Coming into the final lap I was going for state qualifying and coach yelled at me I have to run a 109 to do it. This is where I failed bad- coach said run a 109 but I ran a 109.38. I pushed hardcore and had a pretty nice kick. Unfortunatly yeah I missed state qualifying by .38. Its quite frusterating because I can think of so many places in the race where I couldve gotten half a second. I blame it on the Ogden guys for going out so slow. Im getting good at missing my goals by less than half a second.

I cooled down with JAke and Mitch and Dallen and I discovered multiple rabbits on the trail we were running on and so our cool down consisted of chasing down little bunnys through the lava fields. Not very smart but way fun and it also made me think of why rabbits dont ever trip or run into things even though they run at like 30 mph. The rest of the meet was awesome and Trevor gave me a huge cinnimon roll and I ate it, also I shared it with people to be nice. It started to be rainy and sucky but then I rememberd my parents were parked at the north end of the track in an air conditioned vehicle. Me and Jake hung out in there for the rest of the meet and it was real nice. Today was a good day beacuse really even though I missed qualifying I still got a nice PR of like 12 seconds so time to go chill, go eat more food.
