DHells Invitational 800

my foot has made an amazing recovery, I couldnt run on it fully until wednesday and it still hurts but its good. dhells invite was this weekend and coach only had me in the 800 so on friday I just drove over to the meet and hung out with paul and ran with him. he was down for taylor ables wedding so thats beast i love hanging with paul, he ran with us on thursday too. Julien went ham in his 1600 and state qualified with a 432 it was epic. saturday the weather blowed. we saw a lady who flipped her car in a ditch on the way over. it was rainy and windy af so I got comfy under the bleachers and chilled for a while. The rain stopped and the wind cooled down a little but not much.

at race time it was just hot and windy.i was seeded 5th and ready to wreck some scrubs. We started in alleys (thank goodnes) and I was in the first one with caleb and jaiden. gun went off, clean start no problems there. we started out fast, i got in at the back of the pack with caleb, kody, and the dh guys. I stuck right behind them through the wind. with 425 left me and jaiden started moving up through the pack, going around the turn jaiden layed off and fell in behind armstrong and I kept going ham and passed everybody and took the lead with 325 left. I kept the lead down the back stretch but hitting the final 175 we were finishing right into a freaking headwind. Caleb had gone right with me and he passed me with 150 left. I was so dead in the last 100 and jaiden was holding back a major kick and passed me at the 50 along with kody so i ended up 4th. But I was good with the way I raced. It is better to pass and get passed then to never to have passed at all. thats the motto because at least that means you went for it. It was so hot by then the sun was out and blazing and still foofin windy. Then for the rest of the meet I hung with coach and paul and carson and we just messed around until the end of the meet it was fun. They didnt put out the times for the 800 so I didnt know i ran a 201 untill after.
